“It’s Not Unusual” is a song written by Les Reed and Gordon Mills, first recorded by a then-unknown Tom Jones, after having first been offered to Sandie Shaw. Jones recorded what was intended to be a demo for Shaw, but when she heard it she was so impressed with Jones’s delivery that she declined the song and recommended that Jones release it himself. The record was the second Decca single Jones released, reaching number one in the UK Singles Chart in 1965. It was also the first hit for Jones in the US, peaking at No. 10 in May of that year.

A l´hora de valorar la qualitat de les nostres platges es fan servir uns criteris gens ambientals i gairebé sempre es té més en compte l´artificialització i els serveis que ofereix que no pas el seu valor natural i paisatgístic. Les banderes, els guardons i les estrelles no reflecteixen gens els elements naturals que pugui tenir una determinada platja per a ser considerada com a verge. Però que és una platja verge? Hi ha realment platges verges a Catalunya?

Com indica el seu nom, una platja verge és aquella que conserva intactes els seus valors naturals i on no hi ha hagut pràcticament cap intervenció humana que hagi pogut alterar el medi. Sota aquestes premisses, és evident que no resta cap platja verge en tot el litoral català. Com a molt trobem indrets més o menys ben conservats i que podem arribar a qualificar com a platges verges. Aquestes són platges de difícil accés, sense cap mena d´urbanització al seu entorn i que conserven encara elements naturals característics d´aquest tipus d´ambients.
Malauradament la legislació que regula el litoral: llei de protecció i ús sostenible del litoraldel 2013, busca més el rendiment econòmic i la seva explotació que no pas la protecció dels espais naturals del medi litoral i per tant no ajuda gens ni mica a protegir els pocs elements naturals que encara resten.

La principal amenaça que pateixen aquests indrets, més o menys ben conservats, rau en la pressió urbanística i les requalificacions de la tipologia de sòl per desenvolupar activitats econòmiques de gust dubtós. Aquest darrers anys hem assistit perplexos a aquesta pràctica que creia ja caducada. En un altre ordre de coses, l´elevada pressió que pateixen aquests indrets des del mar per part de les embarcacions d´esbarjo és un problema cada vegada més gros i on l´administració sembla no tenir recursos per a regular aquesta activitat.
Amb aquesta premissa l´entitat Ecologistes en Acció de Tarragona i l´Ebre ha creat el distintiu “platges verges” que atorga de manera anual. Aquest reconeixement té un doble objectiu, per un costat es premia l´esforç dels municipis en la seva tasca per la conservació del medi i per altra banda es valora l´estat natural de les platges candidates.

El principal problema d´aquest reconeixement és que, malgrat que els premis són oberts a totes les platges del litoral català, de facto només s´hi presenten municipis del litoral tarragoní, de les terres de l´Ebre i del sud de Barcelona. Caldria doncs rellançar aquest reconeixement perquè fos efectiu al llarg de tota la costa catalana per poder valorar també les platges de la Costa Nord de Barcelona i de la Costa Brava on hi hauria també espais susceptibles a ser reconeguts.
A Catalunya, malgrat l’elevadíssima pressió que pateix la franja costanera queden encara alguns paratges més o menys inalterats amb un alt valor ecològic i paisatgístic. Si hagués de fer una selecció de les mateixes, segurament triaria: La platja del Trabucador i la platja del Fangar al Delta de l´Ebre; La Platja de l´Estany Podrit i la Cala de l´Ilot entre l’Ametlla i l´Ampolla; Cala Fonda o Waikiki a Tarragona; La platja dels Muntanyans a Torredembarra; La platja de Vallpresona a Tossa; Platja Castelli Cala Estreta a Palamós; La Platja Fonda a Begur. Cala Pedrosa i Cala Ferriol al Montgrí i Cala Canadell, Cala Portaló i Cala Tavellera al Cap de Creus. Aquesta és la meva tria.
William James “Count” Basie (August 21, 1904 – April 26, 1984)was an American jazz pianist, organist, bandleader, and composer. His mother taught him to play the piano and he started performing in his teens. Many musicians came to prominence under his direction, including the tenor saxophonists Lester Young and Herschel Evans, the guitarist Freddie Green, trumpeters Buck Clayton and Harry “Sweets” Edison and singers Jimmy Rushing, Helen Humes, Thelma Carpenter, and Joe Williams

The Baseballs are a German rock and roll band founded in Berlin in 2007. They became popular with 1950s and 1960s style rock cover versions of modern hits such as “Umbrella” by Rihanna, “Crazy in Love” by Beyoncé Knowles, “Hot n Cold” by Katy Perry and “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen. The band members are only credited by their nicknames (Sam, Digger and Basti). Port-bo és un grup d’havaneres fundat el 1966 a Calella de Palafrugell que, juntament amb altres amants del gènere, va ser l’impulsor de la cantada d’havaneres de Calella de Palafrugell, en la que ha participat en totes les seves edicions. El seu repertori, heretat en gran part dels vells cantaires de Calella, està format per havaneres clàssiques i noves, valsos mariners, balades, boleros, sardanes, cançó catalana, etc. Durant les diferents etapes del grup s’han enregistrat 14 discos amb més de 160 temes diferents. A finals de 1995, el disc Arrel de Tres es va classificar a la vuitena posició dels discos més venuts en català, essent el primer cop que un disc d’havaneres aconsegueix aquesta fita. El juny del 2005 oferiren un concert d’havaneres i cançons de taverna al Palau de la Música Catalana, que estava inclòs a la programació dels Concerts de Tarda al Palau. El novembre del 2006 van presentar l’espectacle Bolenera a L’Auditori, i el maig del 2009 A prop del mar (aquest, amb Nina). Han col·laborat amb artistes com Nina i amb els grups Gema 4, Montgrins[8] i Peix fregit. A més de participar en les cantades dels Països Catalans, com ara Mallorca, Menorca, Formentera, Perpinyà i Cotlliure, també ho ha fet a Torrevella, Arrasate, Donostia, Bilbao, Madrid, Valladolid, Luxemburg, Amsterdam, Zuric, l’Havana i a diverses ciutats d’Israel.

Aquesta innovació permet millorarel procés de trobar la informació i també incrementa la visibilitat de tots els recursos del CRAI.
